League City bans outdoor cooking in city parks
League City has joined the list of Houston-area localities forbidding residents to grill or use open flames in city parks.
League City Fire Marshal Wanda Martin cited drought conditions and the imminent risk that outdoor open flames can start wildfires.
The city's Parks Office is currently removing or covering all grills in city parks, according to a city press release.
The city also urged residents to take precautions if they grill or otherwise cook outdoors at home.
