Clear Brook High student advances to Junior Olympics
Julian Gay, 17, wears a gold medal for the javelin throw and silver for discus. He received both during the National Qualifier, and he advances to the Junior Olympics.
Clear Brook High School student Julian Gay, 17, has advanced to the AAU Junior Olympic Games at Turner Stadium.
Julian won gold in the javelin with a throw of 147 feet, 5 inches, and he won silver in discus with a 136-foot, 8-inch throw, both during the National Qualifier. The AAU Junior Olympic Games run from July 28 through Aug. 4.
Before these games, Julian will represent the Texas Storm Track Club at the USATF Regional Track Meet at Texas Tech University July 3-7.
If Julian does well in these events, he will advance to the USATF National Junior Olympics in Baltimore.
