Area runners complete First Colony Freedom 5K
Three Clear Lake-area runners completed the First Colony Freedom 5K on July 4 in Sugar Land.
Michael Bernatovich, 27, of Webster, completed the race in 18:45.
The Friendswood runners who participated in the race are John Moyer, 55, who crossed the finish line in 21:46, and Deirdre Brown, 39, who took 32:45.
A total of 739 runners finished the 5K race, which was held in Lost Creek Park. The proceeds of the race will benefit the Fort Bend CORPS.
Jeremy Green was the men's overall winner with a time of 17:19, while Kylee Short was the women's winner in 18:03.
