NASA-Johnson Space Center to host STEM careers sessions
A free training session from NASA and the Harris County Department of Education is being offered for female and minority students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Kay Tobola, science education specialist for astromaterials research and science exploration at NASA-Johnson Space Center, will lead the educational session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at HCDE headquarters, 6300 Irvington Blvd., Houston.
"Educators learn about how NASA resources can provide students with in-depth and relevant materials that inspire career interests in science and engineering," said Lisa Felske, HCDE science specialist, in a press release. "The workshop details and describes career options, working conditions, earnings and educational requirements of various engineering disciplines."
