Hitchcock ISD Board to hold special meeting, budget workshop

The Hitchcock ISD Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting and budget workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at the Hitchcock ISD boardroom, 8004 N. Railroad.

The meeting will start with a call to order and an announcement by the president to the presence of the quorum.

The budget workshop will begin with reports from the superintendent, followed by a maintenance report and a FIRST report.

The following items will then be discussed: approval of Student Code of Conduct for 2012-2013, approval of Student Handbook for 2012-2013, approval of University of Houston Clear Lake Create Grant, approval of the Professional Development Appraisal System, and approval of the Collegiate High School Agreement for 2012-2013.

Possible action will be taken on each item after discussion.

Next the board will discuss and possibly take action on the following items: the pre-K program at Hitchcock Primary School, substitute teachers and the valedictorian policy.

The board will then enter a closed session to discuss the employment of new professional employees for 2012-2013 and the assignments, reassignments and duties of at-will and professional employees.

After the board reconvenes from the closed session, there will be the announcement of Team of 8 Training, set for 9 a.m. Aug. 18 with Kay Douglas, followed by adjournment.
