San Jacinto Family YMCA to offer swim lessons
The San Jacinto Branch YMCA will offer swim lessons for all ages Monday, Aug. 13 through Thursday, Aug. 23.
Group lessons will be offered mornings at 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. and afternoons at 4 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m Monday through Friday at the YMCA facility.
Classes for children ages 3 to 6 include a class for basic water skills, a class for children comfortable in water and classes for children who can swim 15 feet with their faces in water.
Youth classes are available for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Several classes are available, including a class for children who have little experience being in the water, a class for children who can swim 20 feet without a flotation device and a class for for children who, in general, know how to swim.
Adult classes, for ages 13 and older, are scheduled for 6:15 p.m. weekdays.
The YMCA will also offer a 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. parent and child class appropriate for babies and toddlers, ages 6-months and 3-years-old, and their parents.
Lessons are 30 minutes long and cost $50 per session for facility members and $80 per session for program members. Program membership costs $30 a year. Private lessons are also available.
The San Jacinto Branch YMCA is located at 1716 Jasmine Drive, Pasadena.
