Houston restaurants team up to fight hunger
Shearn’s Restaurant will be joining Houston Restaurant Weeks in August to support local food banks, according to a news release.
Participating restaurants like Shearn's have developed special menu items for the month, agreeing to donate $5 for every Restaurant Weeks dinner sold, according to the release. Diners wishing to participate can visit HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com to find participating restaurants and mention when making reservations that they would like a Restaurant Weeks menu.
So far, Houston Restaurant Weeks has raised more than $1.7 million to fight hunger. Last year’s campaign totaled $800,000 in donations to the Houston Food Bank and with this year’s inclusion of Galveston and Montgomery counties, the goal is even higher, according to the release.
Shearn's is on the ninth floor of the Moody Gardens Hotel at 7 Hope Blvd., Galveston.
