League City PONY baseball holds fall registration
Registration for the 2012 fall season of League City PONY baseball will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at Walter Hall Park Pavilion.
Those ages 13 to 14 participate in Pony baseball and those ages 15 to 16 participate in Colt baseball. Registration costs $90 for the leagues, which run from mid-September through mid-November. Double headers are played Saturdays, with the schedule designed not to interfere with school football.
PONY baseball, which stands for "Protect Our Nation's Youth," was formed in 1951 in Pennsylvania. The league was designed to be a transition for graduates of the Little League baseball program.
The League City PONY Baseball Association was founded in 1987, serving as an instructional baseball league for transition to high school competition.
Walter Hall Park Pavilion is located at 807 Highway 3 N., League City.
