Registration set for adult tennis classes in League City

League City Parks Recreation will offer youth and adult tennis classes from October through February.

Classes will meet once a month on Saturday mornings at the tennis courts in Rustic Oaks Park, 5101 Orange Blossom. Participants should bring their own rackets and a can of tennis balls.

The two open groups will meet on the Saturdays of Oct. 13, Nov. 3, Dec. 8, Jan. 5 and Feb. 16. Rainout dates will be scheduled at the end of the session.

The beginner and low intermediate class is for junior high, high school and adult players working through the fundamentals of the sport. This course will introduce the basics of match play and competitive tennis. This group will meet from 9:30-11 a.m.

The advanced and tournament level group is for high school and adult players with considerable tennis experience. The class will feature competitive game play and high-energy athletic workouts. It will follow the beginners group, running from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Sam Chadwell and his assistant staff will lead both groups. The cost is $15 per person and each class has a 12-player maximum.

Registration for both classes will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 4 online at www.leaguecity.com and at the League City Parks Recreation Office at 512 2nd St.
